HEALTHY SNACK ALTERNATIVES

You may wonder if it’s possible to lose weight while not giving up snacks. 

If you choose healthy, whole-food options with a lot of protein and nutrients, snacks can be integral to weight loss. Some can even help keep you full throughout the day and limit your cravings for unhealthy foods.

Here are some healthy, weight-loss-friendly snacks to add to your diet.

  • 200gr yogurt with 1 teaspoon of flax seed
  • 200 gr yoghurt with 2 dried apricots and 2 pieces of prune slices
  • ½ cup low-fat milk, 1 wholemeal biscuit
  • Fruit salad made with 8 strawberries, 1 small kiwi and ¼ banana
  • 8-10 pieces of black grapes and 4-5 pieces of almonds
  • Mixed nuts such as dried apricots, walnuts, hazelnuts and raisins
  • Yoghurt, buttermilk, milk, cheese (low fat ones should be preferred)
  • Cucumber slices with hummus
  • Cherry tomatoes with mozzarella
  • Seasonal vegetables and fruits
  • Whole wheat bread and biscuits
  • Ice cream, dark chocolate, puddings
  • Edamame
  • Marinated artichoke hearts
  • Olives
  • Herbal teas

When your next craving hits, aim for whole foods instead of highly processed, fattening options.

Having some healthy and nutritious options in reach can stave off your appetite and help boost weight loss.
